However, while data capture & patient management have decentralised, data ownership is still very centralised. Study data is captured for the purpose of 1 study only, with the sponsor as its sole owner. After 2 decades of eClinical innovation, we've now arrived at the next wave of decentralisation. One that provides patients with ownership over their data while also promoting the reuse of that data.
